Groupe Beneteau has come with a statement about a new brand of catamarans. The new catamarans are to be called XCS (Excess), and they allow the company to develop a new concept alongside their successful Lagoon Brand.

On EXCESS catamarans, according to their website, the sailing experience has been reinvented. From the twin helm station aft, the vision & sensations it offers, via the rig, the hulls, life on board, and the materials. Everything has been designed to match this new way of setting off on the water.

There will be five sizes from around 36ft to 50ft, the first two to be launched in 2019. The XCS-12 (11.73 m / 38’5’’) will come in a 3 and 4 cabin layout while the XCS-15 (14,76 m / 48’5”) will have 3 to 6 cabins.
The XCS Catamaran line was introduced on the Cannes boat show in 2018, and more information has been made available during the Düsseldorf boat show in January 2019. In the next 12 months, we will see the real launch at the Cannes boat show. For now, we have to do with artist impressions and renderings from the XCS-12 and the XCS-15.
